v8.0 [Oct 25, 2010]
- The new RapidText-Engine™ ensures that no key press is lost during text insertion. PhraseExpress now buffers all keyboard input while text is being inserted and then outputs it afterwards. Now, you can type as fast as never before without losing a letter.
- automatically recognizes your personal typing mistakes. TypoLearn works in the background and requires no configuration.
- supports clipboard functions Copy, Cut & Paste in the phrase tree. Just copy one or more phrases or phrase folders into the clipboard to move it anywhere else in the tree structure. This saves you from having to scroll through the tree view when you want to move phrase folders.
- You can now select and edit settings for multiple items in one go. This new and intuitive method replaces the previous method of generally applying all settings to all items in a phrase folder (that blocked all settings while folder settings were applied to containing elements).
- Macro functions are now highlighted in the text editor and can be clicked to open its specific macro parameter window. Invisible characters, line breaks and line numbers can optionally also be displayed in the phrase contents input field.
- You can now drag & drop one or more files of almost any file type into PhraseExpress to import multiple external files in one go. PhraseExpress automatically offers suitable options depending on the source file.
- it generates phrases including Autotext associations from each line of a plain text or Microsoft Word file. It scans the file line-per-line for common separators between the phrase and the Autotext associations and generates separate phrases for each line of the source text file. It replaces and enhances the former Importer Utility that was offered as a separate program.
- The #insert macro function has new options if you link a phrase folder, that contains multiple phrases, into another phrase. You can now configure PhraseExpress to always choose a random or the n-th phrase of a phrase folder. Another improvement include, that you can click the Autotext of the linked phrase in PhraseExpress to jump back (and forth) to the linked phrase.
- The #datetime macro function can now also shift the date stamp by work days (Mo-Fr or Mo-Sa) and round time stamps to ¼, ½ or full hour values. This allows you to shift payment deadlines by work days which can be useful for business correspondence. Also time stamps with rounded figures like 3:30 pm look better than 3:24.
- it prompts you what to do if you double-click a phrase file. Addtionally, PhraseExpress also offers you to eliminate duplicates to avoid double entries in your phrase file and to merge existing phrases with updated contents.
- If you ever wanted to know how fast you can actually type, PhraseExpress now gives you the answer. It observes your typing speed at different times and calculates an average. Based on your individual typing speed, PhraseExpress can consequently calculate the exact time savings. You will be surprised!
- it can train the text prediction feature based on any Microsoft Word files or your current phrase file library. Let PhraseExpress scan and learn a couple of your Word documents (you can select multiple docs in one go). The analysis only takes a few minutes and you will be amazed about the accuracy of the text suggestions you will get.
- The accuracy of text predictions has been optimized.
- Text predictions can be filtered to sentences beginning with Caps, Small Caps, numbers, or special characters.
- The minimum input savings parameters can now be defined separately for full sentences and single words.
- Much faster phrase file loading time.
- Significant performance increase and reduced OS resource requirements when displaying menus containing a large number of phrases.
- Phrases can now also be sorted by text length and sorting is significantly faster now.
- A new phrase is created out of any highlighted text if you drag it from the phrase contents input field into the tree view.
- The PhraseExpress status bar of the main program window now contains enhanced information about the current program status.
- Quick access to settings in the main program window by right-clicking on the parameters.
- Improved user guidance with interactive bubble hints that guide you through procedures.
- Phrase selection menus now auto-close after a customizable idle-time.
- New command-line parameter -shutdown that allows you shut down PhraseExpress by automation scripts, e.g. to prepare a back session.
